Zentangle Portraits

I LOVE ZENTANGLES!! They are great way to introduce or review pattern and rhythm. This year 3rd Grade made these awesome Zentangle Portraits. We talked about line and shape and how we can use them to create patterns and rhythms. Students started with a portrait of a head, then added all kinds of lines for "crazy hair" or backgrounds. Then to add a pop of emphasis I had them choose a space or portrait space to color. I am loving the results!!

Art Cart Retired!... Hello ROOM!!

Well this year Mrs. Myers has moved into her very own room!! No more Art Cart. Though there are something I will miss about being mobile, it is very nice to have our own space to create art and have all our materials right at our finger tips. Here are a few pictures of the new space.

I am still settling, I feel like the walls are still a bit bare for an Art Room. But we'll get there. :)
Thank yous go out to Pinterest and all the wonderful Art Teachers that post pictures of their own rooms!!
