What's been happening in ART?

Sorry it has been a while, I blinked and now it is MARCH! Here are some pictures of what has been going on in Art.

These are some Mondrian Animals. I LOVE this lesson for 1st grade as a way to learn about artist Peit Mondrian and Primary Colors.

1st Grade moved right into Secondary Colors and we kept with the animal theme. I showed students a YouTube video of the book "Owl Babies", such a cute story of three little owls on a branch. But instead of white we went Secondary. But then talked neutral for our watercolor backgrounds.

Art Club's made some clay penguins and polar bears for the winter theme groups.

3rd Graders are starting Egyptian Portraits, these are already looking great! I'll keep you updated on their progress.

*We have some artwork from a local artist, Jack Allen on loan at our school. It has been great to teach students about Abstract Expressionism. Be looking for pictures to come on that lesson.
